Welcome to First Lutheran Church
Join us for worship on Sundays at 9:45am
It can be hard to know if you belong somewhere. You might wonder if you have to be perfect and have it all figured out in order to set foot in a church. The good news is, you do belong. You do not need to be perfect. You do not need to have it all figured out. You are a beloved child of God, and you are welcome here.
We invite you to journey together with us in a life of faith in God in Christ.
Bible Study is Back!
We’re getting ready for all kinds of Bible Study this fall! Read Paul’s letter to the church in Rome with us on Sundays. Our topics include:
9/16: What Must I Do To Be Saved? (Romans 3:9-31)
9/23: Saved By Grace … Isn’t That Too Good To Be True? (Romans 5:1-11)
9/30: If What I Do Doesn’t Save Me, Does It Matter How I Live? (Romans 6:1-23)
10/7: Where Is God When We Suffer? (Romans 8:18-39)
10/14: How Can I Keep From Singing? (Romans 10:1-21)
10/21: What Does God Want From Us? (Romans 12:1-21)
“Lunch and Lectionary” begins on September 20th! On the third Thursday of the month we will meet from 11am-1pm at 62 Church St for a light lunch and Bible study based on the readings for the upcoming Sunday. No biblical knowledge is necessary; we are all learning together.
We are a Reconciling in Christ congregation, meaning we specifically welcome people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Read our statement of welcome here, and learn more about the RIC program here.
We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, or ELCA which states, “Our values are grounded in faith, in our biblical and Lutheran confessional sources and our love of God and neighbor.” Most importantly, we believe in God’s extravagant grace for all people.
