Rev. David Dalzell, Pastor 
pastordave frame 2Pastor Dave grew up in Kittery Point, ME, went to college at Plymouth State College (Now a university) in NH, taught math at The Waterville Valley Academy and Portsmouth Christian High School, attended seminary at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. While in seminary, Pastor Dave did his field education for two years at Mediator Lutheran Church in Philadelphia, and then served his internship for two years at Trinity Episcopal Church in Morristown, NJ. Pastor Dave graduated from seminary and was ordained in 2003. Pastor Dave served his first call at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Stafford Springs, CT, and then in 2008 began a new call at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Laconia, NH, which concluded in 2015. Pastor Dave likes spending time with his friends, listening to music, going to concerts, snowboarding, Camp Calumet, iPhone photography, reading, the Red Sox, the beach, the ocean, and his Jeep, especially in the summertime with the top down and the music up. Pastor Dave is a recent widow, his wife of fourteen years, Sarah, having passed away in April of 2015. Pastor Dave joined us in Malden in December of 2015, and will serve as our transitional pastor during 2016. We welcome him to Malden, and are thankful to have him with us.

Dr. Yun Lee, Music Director

Yun is a native of Philadelphia, PA, received her Bachelor’s degree in Music and History from Swarthmore College, where she studied piano with Harvey Wedeen and Charles Abramovic. She recently finished her dissertation on Olivier Messiaen’s song cycle, Poemes pour Mi, and received a Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in Collaborative Piano from Boston University. Yun was a Lang Music Scholar at Swarthmore and received consecutive Merit Scholarships and Graduate Assistantships from BU. Yun has participated in the AppleHill Festival for Chamber Music and the ARt of Song Festival in Salzbury, Austria, and she performs regularly as a chamber musician and song recitalist throughout the New England Area. Along with her ministry at First Lutheran as Music director, she is a faculty member at the Winchester Community School of Music and the Performing Arts Center of Metrowest in Framingham.  She has taught Music Theory at Boston University as well.

Mrs. Annette D’Onofrio, Office Administrator

Annette is a Malden local who is active in the community in a variety of ways. She arrived at First Lutheran in 2005 and provides a  faithful, friendly, and approachable presence  in the daily life of our ministry. She brings with her a care and concern for Malden and its community along with passion for connecting the congregation to the that wider community.  Annette  is the friendly voice you hear when you call the office during office hours and is here to help with your questions and information requests. When not in the office of First, you can find Annette at her kid’s soccer games, dance recitals and the like. You also might find her making her unique and beautiful candles or other creative creations!
