First Lutheran Church is proud to offer a new program: song-writing camp!
Offered over February break, we will meet for one hour each week day to learn the basics of contemporary song-writing. Small groups of students will be led by local singer-songwriters through a new curriculum developed by Berklee student Charissa Hoffman. We’ll take a look at basic music notation, different prompts to get started, and music as self-expression. At the end of the week we’ll share some of what we’ve written with one another!
Who should sign up? Students in grades 3-12 who want to learn! We welcome students with every experience level and music background, whether you play the clarinet in school, sing in a choir, play drums in a rock band, or have never picked up a musical instrument. This is an opportunity to get creative and express yourself.
Classes will meet via Zoom from 1-2pm February 15-19, 2021.
Tuition is $50. We do not turn students away for lack of funds; if you need financial assistance, please contact the directors about sliding scale options.
