Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of our forty-day season of Lent with solemnity, prayer, and repentance. It is a day to mark our heads with dust and ashes and recall that all of us will one day die. Even while we remember our mortality and sinfulness, we recall that because we are baptized into Jesus’ death, we are also baptized into his resurrection and new life. We are already reconciled to God.
All are welcome to join us on Zoom, livestream on Facebook, and in person for a service of repentance and imposition of ashes at 7pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Malden.
