Are you in Malden or the surrounding area and looking for a place to worship on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? We invite you to join us here at First Lutheran Church in Malden as we celebrate the birth of Christ throughout the Christmas season.
4:30 pm Christmas Eve Worship
Our most interactive service of the season, the “early” service will include tangible ways to participate in worship in person and at home: moving the pieces of a nativity set, writing or drawing, lighting candles, and of course, singing or listening to carols. We’ll tell the story of creation, of God’s promised peaceful kingdom, and how this comes to be in the birth of Jesus. This is a great service for folks who prefer to spend the later part of the evening visiting with loved ones online or going to bed early – and particularly wonderful for children.
10:30 pm Christmas Eve Worship
Later on Christmas Eve, we will worship together with our favorite carols, by lighting candles and singing Silent Night, and hearing the age-old story of God’s love made manifest in a baby in Bethlehem. A wonderful service for night owls, singing favorite Christmas hymns, and connecting to the traditions of those who have gone before us.
9:30am Christmas Day Worship
Spend a moment on Christmas morning centering yourself with the light shining through the shadows. Join us in person or online as we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus’ birth in the world and within us.

Finally, if you’re looking for a little Christmas cheer, why not visit our Christmas tree? Located on the corner of Church St and Waite St, everyone is welcome to bring an ornament or two to make a festive decoration for our neighborhood – though we recommend hardy ornaments and those you’re okay parting with, in case the winter weather does them harm.
